    Why I Chose Ursuline

I chose ¿ì²¥³ÉÈËÍø for it’s team-based learning and inclusive atmosphere. My family was fortunate to find ¿ì²¥³ÉÈËÍø, as my four siblings, Thomas, Natalie, Olivia, Valerie, and I have each excelled here. Yet, the sense of family transcends beyond my own and throughout the college. The faculty and staff at ¿ì²¥³ÉÈËÍø are actively engaged in their students. With small class sizes I was able to make lasting relationships with my peers and create a foundational voice for myself in the field of science.

Putting My Ursuline Degree to Work

Ursuline taught me what it means to be a life-long learner. After completing my bachelor's in Honors Biology with a minor in Chemistry, I went on to earn my master's in Biomedical Sciences from The Commonwealth Medical College in Scranton, PA. Currently, I am in an 8-year dual-degree DO/PhD program at Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. I will be completing my PhD in Translational Biomedical Sciences with an emphasis on type 1 diabetes and novel autoimmune/glucose-sensing compounds in May 2021, and I will be graduating with my medical degree in May 2023. I am a two-time recipient of the John J. Kopchick Research Fellowship Award, and have been fortunate to speak at multiple national and international conferences, including most recently the 2020 Diabetes/Islet Biology Keystone Symposia in Santa Fe, NM. My career interest is pediatric endocrinology.

I’m Making My World More Confident

In our team-centric society, let others say you went above and beyond, rather than you did enough. Be self-aware of what you know and confident in what you don’t. Be the change you wish to see in others. Never stop reaching or evolving. ¿ì²¥³ÉÈËÍø is the foundation: keep building.

    Ready for the next step?
