Julie Wesler is a faculty member in the Breen School of Nursing. She earned her BA in Liberal Studies from Sonoma State University in Rohnert Park, CA, and her MSN from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA. She is currently a PhD student in the M. Louise Fitzpatrick College of Nursing at Villanova University. Before joining the Ursuline faculty, Julie taught in the BSN, ABSN, and MSN programs at Pacific Lutheran University. She is certified by the AACN as a Clinical Nurse Leader and by the NLN as a Certified Nurse Educator.
In her clinical practice, Julie primarily worked as a perioperative pediatric nurse and a stroke program data coordinator. Her teaching specialties include fundamentals of nursing care, foundations of the nursing profession, leadership, ethics, quality and safety, NCLEX test-taking strategies and scholarly writing. Her areas of professional interest include student success, inclusive and equitable teaching strategies, health equity, nursing faculty preparedness, student and faculty mentorship, student coaching and curricular design.
